William (Bill) Turecki

July 10, 2003

Passed away peacefully with family at his side, July 10, 2003. Bill was born in Boulton Municipality, Manitoba on November 19, 1935. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Mary and brother Mike. Bill leaves behind so many that will miss him dearly. He spent the last 26 years with his wife Dawne and together fulfilled their lives with travel, parties with "The Gang" and a successful business. He will be missed by his sisters Katie and Carrie and brothers Paul and Peter. There will be a void in the lives of his son Darren (Natalie), step daughter Janice (Mike), son Dale (Debbie) and daughters Darlene, Deborah and Diane (Jay). Also many nieces and nephews and the close friends Bill thought of as family. Grandchildren Michelle and Lukas, Brittney and Tiffany and Wyatt and Nash will sadly miss you too "Dido." Bill moved from Manitoba at a young age and later drove the big rigs across the States and Canada amassing his gentle wisdom and everlasting sense of humour. He was a natural with math and numbers and later put it to good use buying and selling pipe and steel. Dominion Steel became a successful company built on his honesty and fairness. Everyone who knew Bill, knew him as a generous and charitable man. Always giving someone in need a hand, always having faith in people. He never forgot his Ukrainian heritage and traditions that he was so proud of. Kind and loveable, he was rarely cross and always had a story or joke to tell. Many thanks to Dr. Bryan Prentice and staff at the Royal Columbian Hospital. A celebration of Bill's life will be held Friday, July 18, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 - 28 Avenue, South Surrey. (Flowers are welcome at the service). Interment and Reception to follow.
