METGE: William Francis "Bill" passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, B.C. on Wednesday February 1, 2006. Bill just celebrated his 89th birthday on January 29th. Predeceased by his first wife, Fay, his brother John and sister Molly, Survived by his second wife Hester, his children, Patricia (Gary Sessions) of Overton Nevada, Murray Metge (Debbie) of Dubois, Idaho, Mark Metge (Julie) of Ferndale, Washington, and Ilean (Brian Reeves) of Salt Lake City Utah. He leaves also 20 exceptional grandchildren, 19 extraordinary great grandchildren, nephew Pat Metge, sister-in-law Barbara Metge, his extended family, and many dear friends. A proud veteran, Bill served in WWII, and then enlisted in the Air Force in 1956. He retired from the Air Force in Comox, B.C. and lived on the Island, North Vancouver, and White Rock until his death.
