William Hudson

William Osborne Hudson, BEM, BEd, BA. Born July 12, 1912, passed this life November 5, 2003.

Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kate Hudson, son Donald and wife Frances, grandchildren, David, Erin, Sean and son David and wife Anne.

Graduated from High School 1927, from UBC Normal School with Distinction, 1932. Served the New Westminster School system as teacher, Vice Principal and Principal from 1933 to 1976, achieving Bachelor's Degrees in Arts (1938) and Education (1952). Member, New Westminster Symphony Orchestra. Bill was a Mason and a member of the B.P.O.E. New Westminster. He served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1940 to 1945 and was awarded the British Empire Medal (Military Division) in 1945, presented by the Earl of Athlone, Winnipeg.

Educator, musician, builder, artist, poet, fisherman, pilot, raconteur, chess-player, husband, father, friend - the world is a richer place for his having lived. Bill will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of Bill's life will take place in early December.
