MASON, William Alexander Dudley
Peacefully at home on November 27, 2016, William Alexander Dudley ("Buzz") Mason passed away in his 86th year. Only child of Alexander and Edith Mason of Ottawa, Ontario. Alex had a rewarding career in the Canadian federal government before enjoying a long retirement split between White Rock BC and Florida, his days spent volunteering, reading, playing music and doing other things he loved.
Survived by beloved wife Helena Cunningham. Much missed by his children Linda and James Gardiner of Kitchener, Ontario, Wendy and Serge Facchin of London, Ontario, Jeffrey and Shelley Mason of St Marys, Ontario, Steven Mason and Isabelle Roland of Vancouver, BC, Robert and Stephanie Mason of London, Ontario, & Carol Mason and Warren Gallagher of Richmond, Ontario, and step-children Mike and Leslie Walsh of Whistler, BC and Ann Walsh of Surrey, BC. Grandfather of Chandra Gardiner, Mark & Jessica Wilkie-Facchin, Eric Facchin, Nicole Facchin, Rachel and Christopher Hein, Tanya Mason, Nicholas and Kai Mason, Aislinn, Isobel, Ewan and Nigel Mason, Davis and Camryn Gallagher, and Lindsay, Craig and Benita Walsh and Lydia Azadeh. Great-grandfather to Willah Facchin, Merida Hein, Lyra Wilkie-Facchin and Freya Walsh.
A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, Dec. 9, 1-3 pm at the White Rock Community Centre, 15154 Russell Ave, White Rock, BC. Memorial donations in memory of Alex can be made to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
