NICHOLSON, William Victor

Nick has left a very sad family after his 4 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Prince Rupert on January 15, 1924, and he died at home on November 19, 2009. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Betty Cumming, three sons, Glen (Roxanne), Brian (Janice) & John, and three grandchildren, Michael, Chanel and Mariah. He touched many people and organizations in his time, in North Vancouver, Trail, Kimberley, and White Rock where they retired. He will be remembered by his North Shore school chums, his UBC VOC friends, his Cominco associates, his Rossland and Kimberley ski friends, South Surrey Garden Club Members, friends in TALK (Third Age Learning at Kwantlen), and many others along the way. The family would like to thank Dr. Gibbings, Dr. Pretty and his surgeon Dr. Granger, the South Fraser Home Health Services, and West Coast Health Care Services who made it possible for him to spend his last days peacefully at his home. A donation to the BC Cancer Society would always be appreciated. A celebration of Nick's life will be held in the Cote d'Azure room at the Pacific Inn, 1160 King George Highway, South Surrey at 1:30 pm on Saturday, November 28th For his friends in the Interior a celebration is planned in the Kootenays in the springtime.
