Passed away peacefully at Dufferin Lodge, Nanaimo, BC, in his 89th year. Predeceased by his father and mother and eight siblings; survived by his daughter Gloria Smith (Fraser), son Gerry (Anne Banford), grandchildren Curtis & Clinton Smith and Darren & David Nittel, greatchildren Anais, Eva Jean & Fraser Smith and Caleb & Joe Nittel.
Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Bill was a proud veteran of WWII, serving five years in the Canadian Army. He lived in White Rock, BC for forty years, retiring as a building inspector for the Municipality of Delta. Bill was an active member of Lions Club Intl. before moving to Nanaimo in 2000.
