Winifred (Wynn) Dora Tetrault (nee Dunstan)

June 20 1923-June 27, 2009

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Wynn. She will be deeply missed by her family Daniel, Rika & Keita, Richard and Esther, and Ron and Glennis. Wynn is survived by sisters Vera and Stella and by brother Sidney. She is pre-deceased by her husband John (Kai), by sisters Lilly, Pearl, Gertrude, Myrial and brothers Bobby, John, Fred, and Edward.

Wynn was born on the Island of Guernsey in 1923. She moved to Brandon, Manitoba and met John in Winnipeg. During WWII, she worked for the Department of National Defense, while John served overseas. They married in Vancouver, moving to White Rock in 1951.

Wynn was very proud to be a founding member of the White Rock Players Club, making her first stage appearances in the early 50's, and remaining an active member for decades. She loved the theater, taking on many roles in dramas, musicals, pantomimes and TV, notably 'The Beachcombers.' She was responsible for documentation of the early years of White Rock Players, as well as was the designer of many of its posters and graphics. Wynn was a highly accomplished visual artist, inspiring a deep love for the arts in her children. She painted her favorite subjects with both a passionate and a sensitive eye.

The family extends their thanks and appreciation to the staff at Peace Arch Hospital Palliative Care for their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to White Rock Players Club in her name. Friends and family are welcome to a celebration of Wynn's life to be held at the Coast Capital Playhouse, 1532 Johnston Road, White Rock on Sunday August 9 from 2-4 pm. Condolences can be emailed to: tetraultr@gmail.com.
