REID, Winnifred Jean (Macdonald)

January 3rd, 1922 - February 2nd 2015

Jean has joined her husband Malcolm, daughter Donna, grandson Reid, sisters Mary, Marjorie and Mona, and all who have gone before. She is remembered by her son Larry, grandchildren Angela, Trevor, Travis, Kirk (Tonya) and Wade, and great-grandchildren Jeremy and Davis. After her parents travelled through a storm in a small boat, Jean Macdonald was born in Alert Bay. She grew up in Burnaby and Vancouver, and married Malcolm Reid in 1942. Jean and Malcolm's love story continues to inspire their family. They raised Larry and Donna in Burnaby, and managed to travel far and wide before Mal died suddenly just before retirement. Jean lived in White Rock for over twenty years where she was involved with the Hospital Auxiliary Superfluity Shop and Power Pioneers. Her final years were spent in Salmon Arm and Enderby. Jean couldn't contain the love and pride she felt for her family. She was generous, fair, and not afraid to speak her mind. She received loving care by the staff at Parkview Place, to whom the family are so grateful. Jean's ashes will be laid to rest this summer in Burnaby, beside Malcolm. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.MyAlternatives.ca
