(Wood) Marjorie Eline Arbuthnott

Born on July 6, 1919 in Eastend, SK.

Marjorie passed away peacefully ,surrounded by her family at Finlay Pavilion, Peace Arch Hospital on September 23, 2004.

She was predeceased by her first husband James Wood in 1957 and by her second husband, Doctor John Arbuthnott in 1993.

She is survived by her brother Orval (Maisie) Peterson of Winnipeg, MB, her three children Donald J. Wood (Gail) of Coquitlam, Carol McCowan, Marilyn (Lewis) Adkins, both of White Rock and her extended family John (Shirley) Arbuthnott of Calgary, AB, Margaret (Jerry) McCann of Deep Cove, Marj (Jack) Ballentyne of Regina SK, and is lovingly remembered by fourteen grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, all the joy of her life.

Marjorie enjoyed a teaching career which began in a one room country schoolhouse and continued in various communities in Sask, and Man.

She was an active member of Eastern Star in Prince Albert, SK.

Marjorie and John retired to White Rock from Winnipeg in 1987 and enjoyed many wonderful years with family in British Columbia.

The family extends sincere thanks to all of the staff on Finlay Three for their loving and compassionate care.

Marjorie was the matriarch of both fmailies and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of her Life was held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 - 28th Ave, Surrey on Wednesday, September 28th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marjorie's memory to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.
