Many years ago, gas taxes in B.C. were redirected to the provincial government and went into general revenue for the province.

If there ever was a loophole, this would be it, with electric vehicles not paying their fair share.

If one lived in Surrey and looked at the property tax notice we pay annually, you will see a line item called Roads and Traffic Safety.

This is where Surrey road repairs come under, so even if you own an electric vehicle, you still pay road tax.
