I winced when I read the quotes from one artist in this article.
She believes that when she sews, knits and crochets, she is creating art that deserves to be shown in a gallery. Then she goes on to describe her grandmother’s handwork and says “…as kids we’d all get these horrendous hats and scarves.”
Ouch! These items were probably made with love, possibly made with arthritic hands. It was a thoughtless, dismissive and ungrateful remark about gifts that were given from somebody’s heart.
