Re: Forum: Candidates discuss housing, affordability in South Surrey-White Rock

The Peninsula Homeless to Housing Task (PH2H) Force was pleased with the 180+ residents of South Surrey/White Rock who attended our all candidates forum. We believe that affordable housing is one of the top issues in the minds of the voters of the peninsula.

As chair of the PH2H I moderated the evening and had forgotten that Conservative candidate Kerry-Lynn Findlay had sent her regrets. For this oversight we apologize.

We as a task force will continue to advocate for the need for affordable housing in our region. The need is glaring among the Indigenous, seniors and youth. As a society we can do better.

There is crown land on the peninsula that the government owns that could be put to good use, to be the land that this affordable housing is built upon. Let us work together for a better future.

Rick Bayer, Chair PH2H
