Re: Police referendum campaign still ‘game on,’ Nov. 18

The last election, the majority of Surrey council’s mandate was to create a police force for Surrey.

The majority of Surrey council has kept their promise and it looks like we will have our own police force.

The population of Surrey is close to half a million and only eight per cent of the people have signed a petition to keep the RCMP in Surrey. It is obvious the majority of people support having our own police force.

I feel the RCMP has done a good job looking after us all these years, and we should be gracious and say thank you.

Why not let them leave without all this controversy?
