I strongly support those expressing disbelief at the continued assault on White Rock’s citizenry by extremely loud vehicles.

But I would also point out that this assault is not just from souped-up Hondas or motorcycles.

TransLink’s new double-decker buses are unbelievably loud. They scream down Thrift Avenue at all hours and the massive roar they emit can actually exceed that of the law-breakers.

Why TransLink feels it’s necessary to divert these massive vehicles off main arterial routes such as North Bluff, through our residential streets, is beyond me.

When not zooming along Thrift at break-neck speeds they can be seen crowded together on Oxford, confounding local traffic as they force cars to risk collisions in just getting past. It’s a ludicrous situation, which certainly cannot be blamed on our under-staffed policing department.
