LETTER: Peace Arch Hospital care a 'rude awakening'

"We, as Canadians, need to let whoever takes Trudeau's job know that enough is enough. We deserve better.'

A trip to hospital with her husband proved a 'rude awakening' about the state of health care for this writer.

Editor,

Tonight was a rude awakening. As I write, my 90-year-old husband is still on a stretcher in the hallway of Peace Arch Hospital since 4 a.m.,16 hours.

I went to see him for the third time and he was lying in a urine-soaked gown and sheets. I asked three nurses for help, and when I finally got angry they addressed this.

This is not their fault. It is our fault. How much did it cost the taxpayer for Mr Trudeau to fly down to Mar-a-Lago to have dinner with Trump? Would a phone call or a Zoom meeting not do the job? How many nurses could have been hired for that cost?

My husband has worked since he was 15 years old. Never been on UI or welfare. He deserves better, as we all do.

We, as Canadians, need to let whoever takes Trudeau's job know that enough is enough. We deserve better.

Let your politician know. Send them an email. Let them know that we are watching and the next election will decide their future. Do their job or fire them. Speak up.
