Editor:

It seems very interesting to me why Canada with its ugly colonialism, open wounds and warts still is a preferred home for tens of thousands of immigrants from all the world.

Our colonial founding fathers laid the foundation for this country which also included their own biases and European cultural experiences.

Residential schools (cultural genocide) is one of these open wounds as China is finding out with its own “re-education” of its citizens.

I am glad families such as Taslim Jaffer’s decided to make Canada their new home so their insight can improve on the success of Canada’s multicultural experiment started in 1960s.
