Here is just another example of how the generosity of spirit is alive and well.

On a dark and rainy night in December my wife and I drove from Ladner to enjoy a double-feature movie at the Caprice Theatre on King George and 24 Avenue in South Surrey.

Our COVID-19 passports were checked, then we were told that a mix-up of website information indicated we would not be getting our double feature, only the first movie, House of Gucci.

Oh well, just one movie tonight, not the end of the world.

House of Gucci was excellent and just as it finished, the theatre manager joined us and said, “Sir, Madame, you drove a long way based on information that you saw on a website, so we are going to show that second movie, Belfast, just for you!”

Despite my efforts to pay, he would not take our money and called it a Christmas gift. My wife and I enjoyed a private viewing, loved the movie, and would like to give a shout out to the Caprice manager and staff.

We are telling this story to all our friends, urging them to frequent this theatre.

It was a moment of kindness and generosity that will stay in our memories.
