“Amaze of amaze” – to quote poet Sylvia Plath – best describes my feelings as I witnessed the euphoric images of some of our politicians, particularly our newly elected mayor, shown upon receiving the results of the Nov. 15 civic election.

The position of mayor, in a huge municipality like Surrey, is a very serious, responsible and demanding one.

Euphoria? Hmmm… wonder!
