I cannot believe the president of the B.C. Trucking Association is blaming truckers hitting highway over passes on the government. Completely ridiculous!

It is the truckers’ responsibility to understand the rules of the road, along with the height of his or her load, so they can safely drive on our highways.

With all the accidents on our highways involving truckers, you would think that a driver would be extra cautious with their load height. Every overpass is marked with a height allowing for safe driving.

Recently I was driving in the U.S., where I saw no height markings on their overpasses. What do drivers do in that case? We are not trying to reinvent the wheel here. Overpasses have been around a long time and truckers should understand where they are going and how to get there safely.
