On Monday afternoon, June 1, arriving at the post office and missing a stamped addressed envelope, I retraced my steps. With great relief, I saw it propped up on a pole ledge on Martin Drive near 16 Avenue.

To the person who put it there, my heartfelt appreciation for your thoughtful gesture in not just walking on by.

That letter contained a cheerful note and family picture, part of a weekly mailing to a terminally ill cousin in Bangor, Northern Ireland, to give her a ‘trip down memory lane smile.’
