Re: Councillor wonders ‘if court would be as lenient on me,’ May 5.

In answer to White Rock Coun. Bill Lawrence’s question of whether the courts would be as lenient on him if the tables had been turned – the answer is no.

He asked the right question. The attacker got a slap on the wrist.

As far as what he would have received, definitely no roses. Digging ditches for the rest of his life or worse.

Our justice system is injustice. It is shameful.

So Coun. Bill Lawrence did not agree with the sentence imposed April 28 in Surrey Provincial Court.

Well, Mr. Lawrence, welcome to my world. I do not agree with the many decisions imposed on the residents of White Rock by the White Rock city council.

But, Mr. Lawrence, at least the Surrey Provincial Court is open to the public and decisions are transparent and for all to judge. Unlike the decisions made in secret, behind closed doors by the White Rock city council.
