We found it interesting that during the public forum of the proposed biofuel plant on Semiahmoo First Nation land the question was asked about mitigation in the event of a possible tsunami.
The chief explained that there can’t be a tsunami because the area is protected by the outer San Juan and Gulf Islands.
Why, then, did the SFN receive federal funds to install a tsunami warning system? We hear it tested once a month. Why?
