As a second-generation taxpayer, I have never been informed of valid reasons to have a new Surrey police force.
I did not have a pro-RCMP sign on my lawn, but I do have a reasonable background in budgets and finance.
For Surrey, there should be an outside broad audit of all city expenses, contracts, plus donations to present and past elected officials related to the City of Surrey.
Pension and benefit amounts should be included plus comparisons to other city budgets in Canada. Thus this should not only be just for the present “double police force” that taxpayers have been burdened with.
All budgets and documents related to budgets for the past decades should be made fully open to such an audit as well as open to all taxpayers of Surrey and the media.
