Thoroughly enjoyed Tim Collins’ article about grammar (or lack thereof) in the July 26 edition of the Peace Arch News.

I, too, had a high school teacher – very British ( “my husband, the colonel, was in India you know”) – who made me grammar-phobic.

I still correct my husband and many others on the lack of proper use of the subjunctive.

Most reactions: “Huh?”

Thank you for the chuckle and renewing my faith that I am not the only language dinosaur left standing.

Hope that wasn’t a slight/insult/put down. Or am I being redundant?
