Re: Hoping for housing boom, Dec. 28 BC Views column.

Premier Christy Clark is quoted as saying, “If someone can qualify for a mortgage and the bank trusts them with $600,000, surely the B.C. government can trust them with $37,000 of the taxpayers’ money. They’re going to pay it back. And we own part of that home, so when it is sold, we get that money back.”

Did she really say that? Have we really come to this point in our lives that our premier can make such an inane remark and nobody is going to challenge her on it?

Given that the B.C. government is so trusting, let them pay the $37,000 out of their own inflated pockets for each person who qualifies for a $600,000 mortgage.

Just leave our tax dollars alone.

Would someone please begin a petition to remove this premier from office immediately before we go totally bankrupt?
