A 60,000-seat stadium surrounded by a park – are you serious?

Oh, wait a minute, we can get the Canucks and the BC Lions to come and play in it.

Why has no one come up with this brilliant plan to finally put Surrey in the headlines?

It took someone like Doug McCallum, the incumbent mayor of Surrey, to finally recognize the obvious.

But, you will ask, how will competitors, merchants, employees, and of course the fans, make their way to this amazing location?

Well, silly, the same genius that proposed this fantastic proposition found the secret on his visits to Venice, Italy and, of all places, Qatar, in the Middle East.

In April of 2019 the illustrious guardian of our fair city informed a local radio station of his desire to construct a “wandering canal” on “a street that isn’t used that much.” The man has a mind like a steel trap.

Now all you naysayers and sceptics who were pooh-poohing the incredible idea of a 60,000-seat stadium can send your apologies to Surrey City Hall where they will be humbly accepted, I am sure.

Finally, our unemployed gondola operators will find employment.
