Week after week, we wait for the city to repair the new sidewalk on Kent Street between Thrift and Goggs avenues.

The sidewalk looked great when it was finished, but drainage of water from the park became a problem.

Kent Street directly behind our driveway and approximately an eight-foot section of the sidewalk were either covered in water or ice depending on temperatures.

The city was aware of this as they roped off that section of sidewalk with yellow tape and placed pylons to prevent people from slipping on the ice.

Then came the so-called repairs to remedy the situation, which involved using black asphalt on both the road and sidewalk. Not only is this repair an eyesore to look at, but the road is so uneven now that every vehicle that drives over the asphalt creates a huge noise that shakes our house.

We expect something to be done to rectify this situation soon, as you have essentially ruined our beautiful view of the park with this mess.

We pay high taxes in this city, so yes, we expect certain things to be taken care of properly.
