Editor:

I received a parking ticket on Aug. 29 and paid it the next day to take advantage of the reduced early-payment fee.

Immediately upon paying it, I took a closer look and realized that it is not justified. I paid for an hour at 10:06 a.m. and received a ticket at 10:54 a.m., with the alleged offence of “meter expired.”

I called the City of White Rock and was told I’d need to speak to the manager of parking services.

I have left three messages for the manager and he is yet to call me back.

Not only do I want my $30 back, but it concerns me that there may be many other people that have been taken advantage of by this.

Make sure you take a good look at your ticket before you pay it.
