I am writing to thank Alan Emerson, an American in Sedro Wooley, Wash., who helped my husband and myself to obtain a COVID test on Feb. 2. The test was required to get us back home to White Rock.

We booked the test online successfully, but our motorhome was too wide and too tall to be driven through the Walgreens drive-thru.

Panicked and in a time-crunch for our scheduled appointments, we asked several customers leaving the store if they would help us.

Required was a vehicle to drive through to obtain, take and return the test through the drive thru window. Going into the store, nor walking up to the window was not an option. We were out of time to call a taxi.

Allan was pleased to help us after we explained our dilemma. He drove his car, with us in it, masks on etc. in spite of his reservations to possibly miss seeing his grandchildren, in case we were COVID-positive.

His gracious assistance is greatly appreciated by both of us. Kindness in these turbulent times meant everything to us.

H. and R. Lowe, White Rock
