In your Wednesday edition you incorrectly stated that the Canadian Women’s Softball Team at the recent World Championships matched the country’s best-ever finish in the World Softball Championship hosted in Surrey.
I beg to differ. In 1978, Doc’s Blues represented Canada in El Salvador at the World Championship. We went undefeated through the round robin and lost to the USA in the gold-medal game to bring home the silver medal. We are inductees in the BC and Canadian Softball Halls of Fame and the BC Sports Hall of Fame.
