Now that Mayor McCallum can visualize sitting as head of the new police board, by virtue of office, it is time that Surrey taxpayers receive regular, accurate facts on progress and expenditures.

It should start with and include all costs of preparing the original submission. Already there are indications that costs of this project may well exceed estimates.

In a recent issue of the Peace Arch News, it was reported that RCMP pensions would be transferable.

But there was a caveat; senior officers, or the City, would still be responsible for large additional payments to bring their pensions equal to what they would have should they remain in the RCMP.

Quarterly published updates would be a good start.
