One year ago after Nov. 11, I phoned Victory Memorial Park Cemetery and then the Canadian Legion regarding the oldest graves of veterans not receiving any flag on Remembrance Day.

Again, this year, on entering the cemetery from King George Boulevard, there was a sea of Canadian flags on the left-hand side, whereas no graves on the right were recognized with a flag. The right side are the oldest burials in what was a veterans’ cemetery – veterans from the First and Second World Wars. All veterans’ graves should be honoured with a Canadian flag.
