We live at Russell Avenue and Johnston Road and, like the comments in your letters section, the noise at times is very disturbing.

We called city hall asking why they do not enforce their bylaws.

I was told there are no bylaws in the city and that their bylaw officers do not have time to deal with this, and that the RCMP should be enforcing this.

Well, there are, in fact, several noise bylaws in White Rock, one in fact reads as follows: amplified music, vehicle or other loud noise strictly prohibited – $2,000 maximum fine.

I sent this information to the city and received no reply.

Really, as your letter writer says, a lot of fines could soon pay for a few more bylaw officers.

Let’s see what the city has to say.
