Why are so many current and former politicians wanting to be Mayor of Surrey?
When you look at the ages of all the mayoral candidates, you can’t help but notice that so many are either already categorized as seniors or are close to becoming one, which makes one wonder why they are not enjoying their retirement or making retirement plans.
It is especially interesting when you also look at the fact that so many are currently or have been an MLA, MP or both, could it be that they are looking to acquire yet another generous pension acquired from the public trough?
Another interesting fact about the current group of mayoral candidates is how many have a past that makes one wonder about their judgment and honesty.
It makes you wonder if being mayor offers additional benefits over and above the $171,397 that the job currently pays. Don’t the citizens of Surrey deserve better?
