I want to congratulate Megan Knight for her successful bid to become the 14th mayor of White Rock. However, I hope she realizes that with only 2001 votes (less than 38 per cent), she wouldn’t have even secured a seat as a councillor had she run for one.
Instead she won the big prize largely because residents split their Mayoralty votes amongst three well-respected incumbents – all with similar agendas.
If Mayor-elect Knight fails to listen to the taxpaying residents of White Rock and hold to the OCP as promised, she’ll simply become another one-term mayor.
