With respect to both sides of the “tree issue” on Royal Avenue, CUPE Local 402-01, the union that represents White Rock City Workers, supports the members that were involved.
Our sisters and brothers cannot choose sides when it comes to the day-to-day operations of the city, but must work as directed by our employer or possibly face disciplinary action.
We are workers for the City of White Rock and some of us are citizens of the city as well.
We come to work every day to serve you the taxpayer, and cannot get involved in the political side of decisions made by our employer.
We appreciate the calls we have received both supporting and chastising our members on this issue.
