I recently took my recycle bottles over to a local bottle depot.
All went well until the person at the cash register noted some of my beverage bottles were American, and were therefore unacceptable.
The cashier stated she would just dispose of them in the garbage bin.
I asked her if they were part of the blue-box recycle program, and if the city could pick them up. She said no, and said either the cans go in the garbage or I could take them home.
So I brought them home and this week these highly travelled bottles will be in my blue box for the city to pick up and recycle.
