Share the peace at 6 a.m.

There is a time for everything, and with our growing population it is in all our interest to respect each other’s space. So, please… 6 a.m. is not the place to have an organized boot camp on the pier.

For many years, many of us – young and now old – have walked or run, it is one of the only places where you can see the sunrise, hear the waves, birds – all free of charge.

For me, it’s a meditation, to others like church, or whatever. We are there, on rainy, stormy days, and sunny days, for decades. I have found peace and balance there. Why do we have tolerate 10-20 persons running, screaming orders, how and what to do?

I’m all for keeping in shape, to be healthy and do whatever you have to do; that’s why we live in a country where we are free. But let’s respect each other’s space and try to be civilized. Many of us walking that early are older. I kept fit working hard and like to enjoy my age.

It is like a sacred quiet time on the pier at 6 a.m., we should respect it. Only the birds have the right to screech and thump on our little old pier. Let’s keep it that way – to enjoy it and share the peace.
