They keep us in the dark

The corner where we live in White Rock – at Kent Street and Thrift Avenue – is pitch black most nights.

Editor:

I was just wondering why, with all the taxes that I have paid to this city for the last 20 years, I can’t seem to get two streetlight bulbs fixed.

The corner where we live – at Kent Street and Thrift Avenue – is pitch black most nights, due to these lights on opposite corners repeatedly going out every few minutes.

I have called the city three times about it, and day after day nothing is done. I have told them where we live and how dangerous this could be. A month later, nothing has been done.

We live very close to the Kent Street seniors activity centre, and they have evening events going on. Imagine those seniors driving home at 10 p.m. having absolutely no light at that corner.
