Ball players in the Lower Mainland Baseball Association raised thousands of dollars this summer, in their second year of partnership with Canadian Cancer Society and Ball Park Sports Inc.
The 32 teams – who use pink wooden bats during Mother’s Day weekend – brought in a total of $5,570.
This year, the Cloverdale Minor Fastpitch Association joined the fundraising team, raising more than 1,000. The girls and boys of Cloverdale also swung smaller pink wooden softball bats for their campaign.
Next year’s fundraiser is still in the planning stages, with three more minor ball associations joining.
All softball and baseball organizations are invited to take part, and can do so by emailing email@example.com
