Trinity Western Spartans men's basketball coach Scott Allen will step aside following the 2014/15 season.

Trinity Western men’s basketball head coach Scott Allen will step down as the Spartans coach following the 2014-15 season.

Allen will remain with the team throughout the 2014-15 campaign — his seventh with the team — and with a strong recruiting class, is gearing up for another successful season as the Spartans bench boss.

Following the season, the TWU coach plans to pursue other opportunitiesin the basketball community.

“I want to thank Scott for the solid coaching that he provided for our men’s basketball program, highlighted by the CIS silver medal in 2011,” said Dr. Blair Whitmarsh, Dean of the School of Human Kinetics.

The silver medal is a program-best for the Spartans men's basketball team.

Trinity Western will immediately commence a national search for a full-time head coach to lead the Spartans into the 2015-16 season.

Prior to coming to TWU, Allen enjoyed a 15-year career at South Surrey’s White Rock Christian Academy.
