Canadian Open seeking volunteers

The prestigious women’s fastpitch tournament runs June 30 until July 9

Organizers of the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championships are on the lookout for volunteers to lend at a hand at this summer’s event.

The prestigious women’s fastpitch tournament, held at Softball City and Cloverdale Athletic Park from June 30 until July 9, will host more than 80 teams from around the world.

Volunteers of all ages, skills and backgrounds are needed in a variety of capacities, from scorekeeping to security and parking,  to helping out in ticket booths and at gates, or as a member of the field crew.

Additionally, any youth softball player, who is a member of Softball BC and is born between 1998 and 2001, can volunteer as an official batgirl for one of the tournament’s elite teams.

Interested volunteers can find more information, and complete an online application form, at www.canadianopenfastpitch.com/volunteers/new. Each volunteer must commit to working a minimum of 20 hours during the event.
