The search for the Vancouver Giants' Ultimate Fan has officially come to an end.

And that fan is Langley resident and longtime Giants supporter Forrest Travers.

From late January leading up to the contest's March 17 deadline, fans of the Western Hockey League squad entered the Black Press Vancouver Giants Ultimate Fan contest.

To enter, fans sent photos of themselves, supporting the Giants, online or through Instagram with #ultimategiantsfan.

The popular contest had numerous submissions.

Forrest's sister Melanie took a photo of him with Giants captain Tyler Benson during a recent Skate with the Giants promotion.

With the win, Forrest receives a pair of season tickets for the 2017/18 Western Hockey League season, two Vancouver Giants jerseys, dinner at White Spot, and more.

Asked if he is excited about being the Ultimate Fan, Forrest responded, "Yes I am! Perfect! Thank you! I'm so lucky!"

Forrest is a true Giants fan. He went to every Giants' home game at the Langley Events Centre this season, Melanie noted.

"The longer it (the game) takes, the better," she added. "If it goes into overtime or shootouts, he's like, 'Guess what? We get to stay out longer!'"

Forrest's favourite Giant is the team's leading scorer this past season, Ty Ronning.
