Addisyn Hawe looked ready for her debut in sheep riding at the 2017 Cloverdale Rodeo on Saturday.

Pink helmet and pink cowboy boots on, Addisyn and her mother Kim Hawe watched other rodeo performances from behind the fence. Three-and-a-half-year-old Addisyn wasn’t scared.

“She’s kind of like a thrill-seeker,” her mother said. “She has that crazy attitude and likes to go on crazy rides.”

Kim Hawe showed Addisyn some YouTube videos of kids riding sheep, “and she decided that she wanted to do it.”

Addisyn, like many toddlers, was quiet when asked about whether she was excited to go ride the sheep, but did say that she wanted to do it because “I like sheeps.”

In Addisyn’s ride during the Mutton Bustin’, she managed to stay on longer than most kids, being lifted off by the seat of her pants when she fell off the sheep rather than falling to the ground.

“When the guy grabbed her off, she had the biggest smile on her face,” Kim Hawe said afterwards.

After the compeition, trophy in hand, Addisyn and her mother were surrounded by people congratulating them. And when the crowd dispersed, they went off to get a snow cone.
