A Langley rink took top spot at last weekend’s Bye the Sea bonspiel – the annual senior women’s event hosted by the Peace Arch Curling Club.

Langley’s Team Christian rink took the first-place trophy, followed by another Langley rink – Team Clark – in second.

Rounding out the top three was the Gardner rink from the Royal City Curling Club in New Westminster.

The top PACC team was skipped by Gail Bicknell and finished in fifth place.

This year’s event – which was held over three days – featured six teams from Peace Arch and 10 more from across the Lower Mainland.

“It’s a great game and we want to see it grow,” said Peace Arch Curling Club member Jennifer McArthur, one of the bonspiel organizers. “Hopefully fun was had by all the curlers.”

Next up at the Peace Arch Curling Centre is senior men’s playdowns, Jan. 24-26.
