Students on exchange from Thailand stop by Peace Arch Curling Club for a lesson on the winter sport

Seventeen Thai exchange students from Semiahmoo Secondary were the latest to swing by Peace Arch Curling Centre last week, as they learned the finer points of the sport from some of the club’s longtime members.

Since February, more than 600 students from South Surrey and White Rock have stopped by the rink to curl, according to PACC member Bill Wallace, one of the volunteer instructors.

Although the Learn to Curl program wrapped up Friday, Wallace said the club is enthusiastic about the program, and willing to expand to include other schools in the future.
