Marpole rink wins Peace Arch Curling Club bonspiel

Craig Rampton's team defeated Langley's Darren Frycz in 'A' final of Hunter Open men's bonspiel.

Marpole Curling Club's Craig Rampton rink were the big winners at Peace Arch Curling Centres' Hunter Open men's bonspiel last weekend, capturing the 'A' title over a Langley rink skipped by Darren Frycz.

Rampton's rink includes third Wayne Nurse, second Patrick Kyle and lead David Rampton.

In the B final, former Canadian masters (60-plus) champion Rick Pughe defeated Peace Arch's Darrell Zbeetnoff, making a raise-takeout on the final shot of the game to score four points in the last frame.

In the C final, PACC's Andrew Paul (with third Trevor McGregor, second Ross Scott and lead Doug Boynton) defeated Langley's Kent Bird.

In total, 16 teams – five from Peace Arch – competed in the event.
