One of Canada’s most decorated Olympic medallists will be in White Rock this weekend.

Gymnast Rose MacLennan – a two-time gold medallist on trampoline – will be on the Peninsula Saturday hosting an exclusive Canada 150-themed backyard barbecue with a local family that, earlier this year, won a social-media contest.

In keeping with the Canada 150 theme, the event, held in partnership with Springfree Trampoline, will see MacLennan – who won Olympic gold at both the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics – compete with guests in a game of Quizzle, which a news release describes as an interactive “ Canadiana-theme quiz game.”

MacLennan, a Toronto resident, is also promoting fitness – especially for young people – through the endeavour.

As of Peace Arch News press time Thursday morning, organizers were not able to identify the White Rock family that was hosting the event.
