RCMP to host three-on-three hoops tourney

Team Izzat tournament set for Jan. 4 at Surrey's Newton Recreation Centre.

The Surrey RCMP’s 10th annual Team Izzat Basketball Classic is set to hit the hardcourt next month.

The annual three-on-three tournament is set for Jan. 4 at the Newton Recreation Centre (13730 72 Ave.) from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Teams of between three and five players can register for the event until Dec. 27.

The event is free, and competitors get a free t-shirt and pizza. The event is a way for RCMP to connect with local youth. The tournament has a number of age divisions, and is open to players from Grades 7-12.
