Renegades '98 the top seed for Showcase playoff

The White Rock Renegades '98 and the Oregon Riptide are the only two undefeated teams in the Showcase Gold tournament at the Scotiabank Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship.

Both teams went 5-0 (won-lost) after the round robin to earn the top two seeds for the 18-team double-knockout playoff which begins this morning. The Renegades allowed just four runs in five games to earn the first seed.

The Surrey Storm '98 went 4-1 and will be seeded fourth for the playoff, while the Storm '97 was 3-2 and is the seventh-seed.

The championship game will be played at 7 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) at Softball City.
